If you ask Stephen what his name is, and he is in a mood to tell you, he'll generally say "Larry Stephen Lemolin."

And we think that's pretty fun.

Now just to get his daddy done with basic training ... in 28 days!

Dad commented on my blog in response to a post about something funny Stephen said:

In German class today we had to make up sentences using opposites. When it came to long and short, I said in German that my pants were short and my underwear was long. The class got quite a chuckle out of my misstep.

The Birthday Boys at 60

Thanks to some advance planning by niece, Sarah, Gary and Larry were treated to their first ever birthday pinata. Although they reserved the destruction for themselves, they were generous with the booty. 

For the evening Emily and Sarah are making raisin cream pie and then we'll head to Johnny's BarBQ for a TX style birthday dinner.

The BIG surprise

Larry has spent most of the week settling in to the TX house - and today, just in time, he fixed the leak in the guest room toilet. He had no idea that this was critical - since his twin brother, sister-in-law and niece were spending the night. After a leisurely afternoon reading on the back patio in weather that was in the high 70's, we left to have supper at Adelea's, where Emily works. What he didn't know was that the surprise guests were already there with balloons and t-shirts in hand ready to greet him. He was truly surprised - no one had given the secret away. We had a great supper and a great waitress. After 59 days of anticipation, what will tomorrow bring?

It's nearing the big day and for one of dad's last surprises I presented him with an 8x10 photo collage of his kids, married-in kids, and grandkids.

6 days and cheering for Texas

This post is a day late, but I thought I'd write anyway.

Sunday marked the beginning of the last week before Larry (dad) turns 60! Since he'll be spending the day in Texas, we thought we'd give him a hint about which team to cheer for.

Day 9 - Larry's Other Diner Placemats

One of our family traditions is that for our birthdays and other special occasions, Dad takes us to Larry's Diner.

Another tradition is that if the family is out to eat but one of us is missing, Dad will write us letters on the placemats of the restaurant and send them to us.
